Adamawa 2027: Fulani leaders endorse Abbo as governorship candidate

Ahead of 2027 election, Fulani leaders known as Ardos across the 21 local government areas of Adamawa state have endorsed Sen. Elisha Ishiaku Abbo of the Labour Party as their governorship candidate in the state.

The endorsement is coming  amids opposition  to Abbo’s candidature by their parent cultural association, Adamawa State chapter of Miyetti Allah Tapital Pulaku kautal Haure which reportedly  threatened to take disciplinary actions against them.

Speaking at the weekend in Yola, leader of the group, Ardo Maikano Ahmadu Bello, attributed their decision to Abbo’s long standing and consistent support to Fulani communities across the state.

He further mentioned Abbo competence, leadership qualities love for the common man and mutual relationship they built over the years as additional reasons.

Maikano further dared  the state chapter of their cultural association, stressing that no cultural or religious association has the right to stampede on their democratic rights or dictate to  its members who to vote or not to vote for.

According to him, Sen. Abbo has rendered so many assistance to Fulani communities in the the state especially interns of veterinary medicine to cattle, education support to children, community development projects  among others.

Also speaking, Senator Abbo, represented by his running mate, Hon.Sanusi Farouk Jauro,  thanked them for the support and reiterated their commitments to tackle socio-economic challenges bedeviling Fulani communities in the state if elected.

On his part, the Director General Abbo campaign organization, Abubakar Usman Damare, urged them to remain steadfast and committed in their decision, stressing that Abbo remains the best among all the gubernatorial candidates in the state.
