REVEALED: Details Emerge on Who Will Inherit Tycoon Chivayo’s Wealth After His Death
New details have come out about what the late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo wanted to happen to his wealth after he died.
Chivayo wanted most of his money and property to go to his children.
He hoped they would benefit from it as they grew up and always remember the father who looked after them.He died on Wednesday, September 30, when the helicopter he was travelling in crashed near Marondera, Zimbabwe.
His wife, Lucy Muteke, and several others on board also died.
Chivayo was known for his expensive lifestyle, successful businesses and links to powerful people.
His sudden death has left many wondering what will happen to his businesses, properties and other assets.
As relatives and friends came together to mourn, people also began asking who would receive his fortune.
On Friday, October 2, Chivayo’s uncle and family spokesperson, Herbert Chivayo, spoke to mourners at the businessman’s mansion in Harare.Relatives, friends, religious leaders and government officials attended.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa also visited the home to offer his condolences.
Herbert said Chivayo had talked to the family about his wishes while he was alive.
He said Chivayo had made it clear, more than once, that his children should get the biggest share of his wealth if he died.
According to Herbert, Chivayo wanted his children to be able to use his estate as they got older. He also wanted his wealth to remind them of him and the life he had built.Herbert also said there would be no fighting among relatives over the estate. He insisted the children were the rightful heirs and that the family would respect that.
Plans for the funeral of Chivayo and Lucy are still being made, and the family has not yet announced the final burial arrangements.
For now, Chivayo’s wishes have put his children at the centre of attention as the family deals with his estate and works to protect his legacy.
