74-year-old former Nigerian senator reportedly marries 18-year-old granddaughter’s bestie

A former Nigerian senator, Emmanuel Dangana Ocheja, has sparked reactions online after allegedly marrying an 18-year-old lady identified as Winifred, who is said to be his granddaughter’s best friend.

Ocheja, who is reported to be 74 years old, served as a senator representing Kogi State in the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015.

Records show that he was a member of the 7th National Assembly and represented Kogi East during the 2011 to 2015 legislative period.

According to reports circulating online, Ocheja recently married Winifred in what was described as a lavish wedding ceremony.

The bride is reportedly 18 years old and is said to be a close friend of the former senator’s granddaughter.

The reported relationship has attracted attention largely because of the significant age difference between the couple and the claim about the bride’s relationship with Ocheja’s granddaughter.

A video from the ceremony has also surfaced online, further drawing attention to the reported marriage.

The footage was shared by film producer Seun Oloketuyi, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood Ventures.

In the video, Ocheja could be seen dancing with his new wife during the wedding celebration.

The young bride appeared excited as she joined the former senator on the dance floor, while guests watched the couple celebrate their union.
