Today’s Headlines: Tinubu Needs Another Four Years Term, Jonathan, NBA President, Awomolo, others celebrate Agabi at 80

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has commenced grassroots mobilisation in Nasarawa State for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, with its founder, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, calling for the consolidation of the administration’s economic reforms.

Tompolo, represented at the launch in Lafia by the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, Kestin Pondi, said the reforms had brought challenges but were necessary to achieve their intended long-term economic outcomes.

He urged residents of the state to support Tinubu for another four-year term, arguing that the administration needed more time to consolidate its policies.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya (SAN), Asiwaju Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) and other Senior Advocates of Nigeria and prominent Nigerians celebrated former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), at a public lecture in Abuja.

The event, held at the Body of Benchers Building, featured a lecture by journalist and Editor-in-Chief of TheCable, Simon Kolawole, titled: “Prioritising ethical conduct and anti-corruption measures in governance in Nigeria.

”In a tribute published in the “Book of Tributes in Honour of Chief Godwin Kanu Agabi, SAN,” Awomolo, who chaired the Central Planning Committee for the event, described Agabi as a distinguished lawyer and two-time Attorney-General of the Federation.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said a foreign actor was involved in an incident near a British airbase used by US forces to launch strikes against Iran, after five British nationals were arrested and later released on bail.

The five men, all British nationals in their early 20s from London, were arrested in the early hours of Sunday near RAF Fairford in western England after police were alerted to three large white vans parked close to the base.

British counter-terrorism police are investigating whether individuals acting on behalf of a foreign state were involved in the incident.

All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 09, Oke-Iserin, Igboora, in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State, has expelled former member of House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Saubana Ajibola Muraina from the party.

The decision as contained in a statement by Mr. Fasasi Mustapha and Mr. Afolabi Abiodun, Chairman and Secretary Ward 09 Oke Iserin Igboora, Oyo state respectively

was taken at an emergency Executive meeting of the Ward.

Hon. Dr. Muraina, a former member of the APC in Ward 09, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after failing to secure the APC ticket for Ibarapa Central / Ibarapa North Federal Constituency for the 2027 general elections, and has now emerged as the PDP candidate for the same constituency.
