Asante Gold Chirano awards scholarships to 24 students in Ghana

In Ghana, Asante Gold Chirano Limited awarded scholarships to 24 students from communities in its operational area. The awards were presented on September 10, 2026, during the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation scholarship award ceremony and the second graduation of program participants, MyJoyOnline reports.

New scholarship recipients

Under the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation scholarship program, 18 students were selected. Another six people received support under the company general manager’s separate scholarship program. Following the latest awards, the total number of people who have benefited from the two programs reached 162.

Sebastian Obeng, head of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly, noted Asante Gold Chirano Limited’s continued support for communities. According to him, the company’s investments in education and community development are a practical contribution to the municipality’s development and complement the authorities’ efforts to expand opportunities for young people.

Program graduates

During the ceremony, 21 participants who completed training programs were also recognized. This is the second group of graduates of the scholarship program: previously, 33 of its participants completed their studies. In total, 54 scholarship recipients have graduated under the program.

Nana Kofi Nkoa, chief of Sefwi-Ahwia, called the program’s results an example of cooperation between companies, traditional authorities, communities and state institutions. Kwaku Sarfo Dua, chairman of the Chirano Sefwiman Foundation board, said the initiative aims to train specialists capable of contributing to the development of communities and the economy.

Stephen Asante Yamoah, general manager of Asante Gold Chirano Limited, congratulated the graduates and new scholarship recipients. He stressed that professional success will depend on continuous learning, discipline, adaptability and ethical conduct.
