Ghana’s women’s under-20 national team lost 0-3 to Ecuador in their first match of the youth World Cup, which is being held in Poland. For Ecuador’s national team, the match was its debut at the tournament.
Ecuador score three goals
Ecuador opened the scoring as early as the second minute. The Ghanaian team, known as the Black Princesses, struggled to organize their play and were unable to establish passing sequences, MyJoyOnline reports.
Shortly before halftime, Ecuador’s national team scored a second goal, so Ghana went into the dressing room trailing 0-2. In the second half, Ecuador scored once more within the first 24 minutes after the break and secured victory in the opening match.

Ghana head coach Charles Sampson could not count on central defender Margaret Agyapomaa, who was sent off in the final qualifying match against Uganda.
Since their tournament debut in 2010, Ghana have won only one opening match at the World Cup. Ghana will next play South Korea and France, who drew 1-1 in another Group C match.
