Accra, Sept. 3, GNA – The Ghana Police Service has promoted six officers and a senior officer as part of efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance operational effectiveness within the Service.
‎
‎
‎The promotion ceremony, held at the National Police Headquarters in Accra and was led by Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) in attendance.
‎
‎
‎The promotions come amid ongoing police investigations into the alleged robbery and murder of 40-year-old gold buyer Seth Kobina at Agona Fie, near Agona Nkwanta in the Western Region, for which five suspects have reportedly been arrested.
‎
‎
‎Addressing the officers, Commissioner of Police (COP) Joseph Oklu Gyamera, Director-General of the Legal and Prosecution Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, congratulated them on their elevation.
‎
‎He urged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
‎
‎
‎COP Gyamera said the new ranks came with increased responsibility, particularly at a time when public expectations of the Police Service remained high in areas such as crime prevention, public safety and public trust.
‎
‎
‎He said the promotions were intended not only to reward performance but also to strengthen the Service’s leadership structure as part of ongoing reforms to improve operational effectiveness nationwide.
