The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is looking to deepen commercial ties with Nigeria as it seeks a larger foothold in West Africa. More than 20 Nigerian companies are expected at the inaugural Uganda–Nigeria Business Forum, with proposed investments including a $3 billion cement plant and an $800 million urea fertiliser factory. The investment interest was revealed today by Dr Sam Omara, Minister Counsellor and Head of Economic and Commercial Diplomacy at the Uganda High Commission in Abuja, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala, during a press briefing ahead of the launch of the Uganda–Nigeria Business Forum.
