Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports has congratulated Comrade Isaiah Benjamin on his re-election as President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) at the Association’s Triennial Delegates Conference held in Kaduna on Friday.

The Pillar of Sports described Benjamin’s emergence unopposed as a well-deserved vote of confidence in his leadership and a clear recognition of the outstanding performance he recorded during his first tenure as President of the Association.

According to the former President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), the renewed mandate given to Benjamin reflects the confidence of SWAN delegates in his capacity to lead the Association, protect the interests of sports writers and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Nigerian sports.

While congratulating him on his re-election, the Anambra-born Sports philanthropist urged the SWAN President to see the new mandate not only as an honour but as a greater responsibility to surpass the achievements of his first tenure and take the Association to even greater heights.

“Your re-election is a testament to the quality of your leadership and the confidence your colleagues have in you. We urge you to build on the achievements of your first tenure, raise the bar even higher and ensure that your second term becomes an even more remarkable chapter in the history of SWAN,” Ejidike said.

Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports further encouraged Benjamin to continue promoting professionalism, unity, welfare and capacity development among sports writers, while strengthening SWAN’s role as a credible and influential stakeholder in Nigerian sports.

He expressed confidence that Comrade Isaiah Benjamin would justify the confidence reposed in him by the delegates and use his renewed mandate to advance the interests of SWAN and contribute to the emergence of a stronger, more professional and more impactful sports media in Nigeria.
