NDC MP Joana Gyan and the Keche music group
Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has ended her seven-year professional relationship with Ghanaian music duo KECHE, bringing to a close a partnership that began in 2019.
In a statement issued by GEM Multimedia Ghana Ltd on Monday, August 31, 2026, the company said the contractual arrangement between Joana Gyan Cudjoe and KECHE Music Group, now KECHE Global, had expired and would not be renewed.
The statement said Joana Gyan Cudjoe will no longer be involved in the management, financing, investment, executive production, promotion or other business activities of KECHE Global.
According to the statement, Joana Gyan played a major role in the development of KECHE over the past seven years, providing financial and professional support to help advance the careers of Andrew Kofi Cudjoe, popularly known as Keche Andrew, and Joshua Kojo Ampah, known as Keche Joshua.
Her contributions reportedly included funding for music recordings and videos, marketing and promotion, branding, artist development, travel, performances, media engagements and other creative projects.
GEM Multimedia Ghana Ltd said Joana Gyan’s involvement was not limited to financial investment, but also included executive production, management, strategic planning and efforts to position the group for a wider African and international audience.
During the partnership, KECHE released several songs and collaborations, including works featuring prominent Ghanaian artistes such as Akwaboah, Kuami Eugene, Fameye, Epixode, Mr. Drew and Lasmid.
The statement also revealed that the group’s name was changed from KECHE to KECHE Global during Joana Gyan involvement, as part of an effort to give the group a broader international identity.
However, the company stressed that the end of the business relationship should not be interpreted as a personal conflict between the parties.
It said the decision was taken peacefully and that there was no hatred, bitterness or disagreement involved.
Joana Gyan Cudjoe also emphasized that her professional separation from KECHE Global does not affect her personal and family relationship with Keche Andrew, who is her husband.
KECHE Global will now operate independently, with the duo expected to determine their own management arrangements, investors, business partners, record companies, producers and promoters.
The statement further indicated that Joana Gyan would redirect her attention and resources towards her own businesses, investments, music-related projects and the discovery and development of new talents.
On matters concerning ownership and creative rights associated with the group’s works, GEM Multimedia Ghana Ltd said any issues arising would be addressed professionally in accordance with existing agreements and applicable laws.
Despite ending her professional involvement with the group, Joana Gyan Cudjoe has urged fans and supporters to continue supporting KECHE Global and their music.
She expressed appreciation to the duo and everyone who contributed to the group’s journey over the past seven years, including musicians, producers, songwriters, directors, engineers, media professionals and other industry stakeholders.
The statement said the experience had provided valuable lessons in music, entertainment, management, production, marketing, international business and creative partnerships.
Joana Gyan Cudjoe is now looking ahead to what she describes as a new chapter, with plans to focus on discovering and developing new talents, producing music, investing in creative projects and creating opportunities for emerging African artistes.
GEM Multimedia Ghana Ltd said the broader vision is to identify, develop and promote African talent from Ghana to the rest of the continent and the world.
