The biggest trade fair dedicated to showcasing indigenous Ghanaian products, the This Is Ghana Exhibition, opens today, Saturday, August 29, bringing together businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans and consumers for a two-day celebration of locally made products and services.
Organised by Citi FM and Channel One TV, the exhibition is designed to give Ghanaian businesses a major platform to showcase their products, connect directly with consumers, build partnerships and explore new opportunities for growth.
The event, which runs from August 29 to 30 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park, will be open to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.
With exhibitors drawn from different sectors of the local economy, patrons will have the opportunity to discover, sample and purchase a wide range of Ghanaian-made products.
From food and beverages to fashion, beauty products, crafts, household items and other locally produced goods, the exhibition brings Ghanaian brands together in one space while allowing entrepreneurs to tell the stories behind their businesses.
More than a marketplace
While sales form an important part of the exhibition, the This Is Ghana Exhibition is designed to go beyond a conventional trade fair.
It provides participating businesses with an opportunity to meet potential customers, network with fellow entrepreneurs and engage prospective business partners and other stakeholders in Ghana’s growing enterprise ecosystem.
For consumers, the event offers a chance to experience the breadth of Ghanaian creativity and innovation while supporting businesses that manufacture and provide goods and services locally.
The exhibition also seeks to strengthen the Made-in-Ghana agenda by encouraging greater appreciation and patronage of locally produced goods.
At a time when businesses are seeking new markets and consumers are increasingly being encouraged to buy locally, the platform provides an avenue for emerging and established brands to demonstrate their quality, tell their stories and build lasting relationships with customers.
Spotlight on Ghanaian enterprise
Beyond individual businesses, the exhibition highlights the broader role of indigenous enterprises in Ghana’s economic development.
The organisers say promoting local businesses can contribute to job creation, stimulate domestic production, strengthen local value chains and create opportunities for entrepreneurs to scale their operations.
The event also gives smaller and emerging brands, which may have limited access to traditional retail and advertising platforms, an opportunity to gain visibility and interact directly with a wider audience.
Powered by Citi FM and Channel One TV and proudly sponsored by Ecobank, MTN, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).
This Is Ghana Exhibition is expected to attract a diverse audience throughout the two-day event.
As businesses open their stalls and patrons make their way to the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park, the exhibition will put the ingenuity, enterprise and creativity of Ghanaian producers firmly in the spotlight.
For two days, the message will be simple: what Ghana can make, Ghana can proudly showcase.
