President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology and Mahama Ayariga as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, following parliamentary approval.

At the ceremony at the Jubilee House, President Mahama urged the new ministers to serve with integrity, humility and fairness, placing the national interest above personal gain.

He charged Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings to provide leadership in science and technology-led development while taking firm action against illegal mining activities that continue to destroy forest reserves and water bodies.

For Mr. Ayariga, he emphasized the critical role of local government in deepening decentralization and strengthening collaboration with traditional authorities and religious bodies.

Speaking on behalf of his colleague, Mr. Ayariga assured the President that they would deliver on the government’s campaign promises and work to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.

The swearing-in follows their vetting and approval by Parliament last week.
