Tanui said the discussions focused on how strategic partnerships between government and industry can create greater opportunities for digital transformation and regional growth.

Kenya is seeking to strengthen collaboration with the private sector to accelerate digital transformation, expand broadband connectivity and improve access to affordable internet across the country.

Principal Secretary for the State Department for ICT and Digital Economy, Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, CBS, said this after meeting with the leadership of Liquid Intelligent Technologies,  led by its Vice President and CEO, Neeraj Pradhan.

Tanui said the discussions focused on how strategic partnerships between government and industry can create greater opportunities for digital transformation and regional growth.

A key area discussed was the acceleration of broadband connectivity across Kenya, with a focus on expanding access to reliable and affordable internet. The parties also explored potential collaboration on public Wi-Fi, particularly in public spaces and underserved communities.

According to Tanui, greater cooperation between government and technology companies could help bridge connectivity gaps while making digital services more accessible to businesses, communities and citizens.

He said combining the strengths of government and industry would help accelerate connectivity, drive innovation and support the development of robust digital infrastructure needed for broader participation in Kenya’s digital economy.

Tanui added that Kenya’s digital transformation would increasingly depend on partnerships capable of turning improved connectivity into tangible economic and social opportunities.
