Gordon Asare-Bediako and Dennis Miracles Aboagye

Gordon Asare-Bediako, a frontrunner in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) race for National Communications Director, has stepped down for Dennis Miracles Aboagye.

The development was contained in a press release issued last Saturday. Gordon, who is a pundit on Movement TV morning show programmes and host of the Bekyeremu, a popular Saturday show on the same channel, had a massive following in the upcoming national executive officers’ elections of the NPP scheduled for October.

“After deep reflection, wide consultation with family, friends, and stakeholders across our great party, and prayerful consideration of what is best for the New Patriotic Party at this defining moment, I have decided to withdraw my candidature for the position of National Communications Director.

“This decision has not been an easy one. My ambition to serve in this role was born out of a genuine desire to help rebuild our party’s communication machinery and reposition the NPP for victory. That desire has not diminished, but I have come to the firm conviction that our party’s interest is best served by unity of purpose, not a division of energies,” he stated in the release.

Continuing, he announced that “it is in this spirit that I am throwing my full and unreserved support behind Dennis Miracles Aboagye.”

Miracles, he said, “needs no introduction to our party. As Spokesperson and Communications Director for the 2024 Bawumia Presidential Campaign, and through years of frontline advocacy for the NPP, he has demonstrated the courage, discipline, strategic depth, and command of message that this moment demands. He is battle-tested, articulate, and respected across the length and breadth of our party.”

While expressing confidence in Miracles to deliver, he added that under his leadership, the NPP’s communication front will be sharper, louder, and more effective than ever before.

He urged all delegates who have supported his candidature to channel that same energy and goodwill behind Dennis Miracles Aboagye, adding that “our mission is bigger than any individual ambition: it is the retrieval of power for the New Patriotic Party and the restoration of hope for the good people of Ghana.”

He pledged to remain a loyal servant of the party and ready to serve in whatever capacity he is called to do.
