The media personality announced the milestone on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, 19 August, sharing that he had visited the EBK offices to collect the certificate in person.

What did Tricky say about his registration?

In his post, he expressed gratitude to CPA Tony Kibet, Manager Communications Ruth Kwamboka, and Senior Officer Mr. Mumo for the warm reception they extended to him during the visit.

“It was a great honour to receive my Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) Certificate of Registration. Grateful to CPA Tony Kibet, Manager Communications Ruth Kwamboka, and Senior Officer Mr Mumo for the warm welcome at your offices. We’re cruising nicely,” he wrote, tagging the Engineers Board of Kenya in the post.

Tricky has long been celebrated for managing to thrive in two very different worlds.

While building his entertainment career through platforms such as Churchill Show and radio, he was simultaneously grinding through the demanding coursework required of an engineering student.

He graduated from Kenyatta University in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree before going on to pursue further studies in Mechatronics Engineering, including a master’s path at JKUAT.

His EBK registration now puts an official stamp on years of academic effort alongside a busy entertainment schedule.

Fans celebrate MCA Tricky

The post drew a wave of reactions from fans and followers, many of whom were genuinely impressed by the comedian’s dual accomplishments.

MCA Tricky himself jumped into the comments, calling on young engineers to connect, writing:

“Engineers Board of Kenya! Young Engineers kujeni hapa tuongee.”

Bwana Juma offered a note of caution:

“Congratulations, but we want skills not papers.”

Evans Matibe kept it straightforward:

“Congratulations, engineer… Getting that paper isn’t a joke.”

Nicholas Tito took things in a humorous direction:

“Big shout-out to you, bro… You mean you know the work of all those buttons on the dashboard of an aeroplane… Eeeeish.”

Drowning Fish Francis added:

“Not only an engineer but engineer wa ndege.”

Elizabeth Onyango summed up the mood:

“Congratulations. We celebrate it with you, MCA Tricky. This is a milestone.”

The achievement cements MCA Tricky’s reputation as one of Kenya’s most compelling examples of balancing creative talent with serious academic discipline.

Was MCA Tricky fired from Milele FM?

TUKO.co.ke also highlighted facts about comedianTricky’s unexpected dismissal from Milele FM, where he served for six years before receiving shocking news of his termination while abroad on an engineering programme.

His emotional response to the abrupt exit revealed a vital lesson about the impermanence of employment and the importance of having contingency plans in one’s career.
