G100 Global Women Leaders, a global action-driven network of eminent women leaders from more than 100 countries, has officially launched its business chambers and partnerships wing, Nigeria, at an inaugural event in Lagos.
The launch also marked the official unveiling of Business Beyond Borders (BBB), the flagship initiative of the Business Chambers & Partnerships Wing, created to accelerate women’s economic empowerment, leadership, business visibility, strategic partnerships and access to local, national and international markets.
In Nigeria, the Wing is led by Oluwaseun AyanfeOluwa, who serves as the Nigeria Country Chair, according to her “G100 Global Women Leaders brings together accomplished women leaders, policymakers, business executives, entrepreneurs, academics and changemakers who work collectively to advance women’s leadership, influence and economic empowerment across sectors”.
“Operating through 100 specialised Wings, G100 provides a platform for strategic dialogue, cross-border partnerships, mentorship and initiatives designed to accelerate women’s participation in leadership, business and sustainable development”.
Business Chambers & Partnerships Wing: Connecting Women to Opportunity
“The Business Chambers & Partnerships Wing serves as the business and enterprise arm of G100. Its mandate is to create practical opportunities for women entrepreneurs and professionals to strengthen their businesses, expand their networks, build strategic relationships and access new markets”.
“The Wing will foster collaboration among businesses, government institutions, trade organisations, development partners and private-sector stakeholders, with a focus on unlocking sustainable growth through knowledge sharing, strategic partnerships, institutional connections and market access”. She said.
Business Beyond Borders: From Capability to Visibility
At the centre of the Wing’s activities is Business Beyond Borders (BBB), an initiative designed around a critical observation: many women are already building capable and valuable businesses, yet capability alone does not always translate into visibility, strategic positioning, market access or meaningful opportunities.
Rather than relying solely on generic capacity-development programmes, BBB is built around three strategic pillars:
- Preparation
Helping women strengthen their businesses, address critical growth gaps and become ready for larger opportunities.
- Positioning
Supporting women to communicate their value effectively, build credibility, strengthen their visibility and connect with the right audiences and opportunities.
- Partnerships
Creating strategic relationships, collaborations and institutional connections that can open doors to new markets, networks and opportunities.
One of BBB’s first interventions will be the BBB Business Growth Diagnostic, designed to assess the current position of participating businesses, identify their most pressing growth gaps and enable participants to access more targeted development opportunities.
Throughout the year, the initiative will be supported by practical masterclasses, business clinics, visibility and positioning initiatives, strategic networking, institutional collaborations and market-access opportunities. These activities will also include relevant conversations around cross-border trade and business expansion.
The objective is not simply to organise programmes, but to achieve measurable transformation in the businesses and careers of the women participating in the initiative.
“From Capability to Visibility”
Speaking on the significance of the launch, Agatha Adesigbin, Western Region Chair, Nigeria, Business Chambers & Partnerships Wing, G100, said:
“Nigerian women are building incredible businesses. With Business Beyond Borders, G100 is committed to ensuring that capability translates into visibility, partnerships, and sustainable growth. This launch is the beginning of a new chapter for women’s economic leadership in Nigeria.”
“For clarity, Business Beyond Borders (BBB) is the flagship initiative of the G100 Business Chambers & Partnerships Wing, Nigeria” she said.
Explaining further, The Chair also mentioned “BBB was conceived to address a critical challenge facing women entrepreneurs and professionals, not necessarily a lack of capability, but gaps in visibility, strategic positioning and access to opportunities”.
“Built around the central premise “From Capability to Visibility,” BBB seeks to equip women with the knowledge, networks and opportunities required to build sustainable businesses and careers beyond their immediate environments”.
“Through the initiative, participating women will be positioned to pursue opportunities across local, national and global markets, while developing the relationships, credibility and strategic capacity required for sustainable growth”.
A New Chapter for Women’s Economic Leadership
The launch of the G100 Business Chambers & Partnerships Wing, Nigeria, and the unveiling of Business Beyond Borders represent a significant step towards strengthening the ecosystem supporting women-led businesses and professional advancement in Nigeria.
Through strategic partnerships, business development, visibility, mentorship and market-access initiatives, the Wing aims to create an environment where women can move beyond simply having the capacity to succeed to becoming visible, strategically positioned and connected to opportunities that can accelerate their growth.
The long-term ambition is clear: to move women from capability to visibility, from visibility to opportunity, and from opportunity to sustainable growth.
