The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has forecast rain and thunderstorms across parts of Northern Ghana, with residents in several communities advised to take precautions during stormy conditions.

The affected areas include Yendi, Tamale, Bole, Damongo, Bolgatanga, Nalerigu, Wa and Jirapa.

GMet’s latest weather update also indicates misty conditions in some areas, while mostly cloudy skies are expected across southern Ghana.

Some parts of southern Ghana could also experience slight rain or drizzle later in the day.

GMet has urged residents in the northern sector to seek shelter during heavy rainfall and lightning and to remain alert to official weather updates.

The advisory is particularly important for motorists, pedestrians and people engaged in outdoor activities, as thunderstorms can be accompanied by strong winds and reduced visibility.

Residents have been encouraged to follow updates from the Ghana Meteorological Agency and take necessary safety measures during the storm.

In emergencies, the public may contact NADMO on 0302 964 884 or 0291 913 077, or dial 112.
