Takoradi, July 17, GNA – MTN Ghana has awarded GH¢30,000 to LbH, an agri-tech company, for emerging winner of the 2026 MTN Business Pitch Competition.

The competition, held in Takoradi as part of the MTN SME Clinic for small businesses in the Western Region, featured seven groups of young entrepreneurs who pitched technology-driven and innovative business ideas aimed at solving business challenges.

At the end of the competition, LbH emerged winner, taking home the GH¢30,000 cash prize to help scale up its innovative projects.

Mr Mohammed Abubakari-Sidick, Senior Manager for SME Sales, Partnerships and Business Broadband at MTN Ghana, said the competition formed part of the company’s efforts to provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a platform to showcase their innovations while receiving financial support to expand their businesses.

He said: “This was for them to showcase their work, the kind of problems they want to solve in their communities, the support they require to expand their businesses, while also telling us how they use MTN Business tools in their work.”

Mr Abubakari-Sidick said MTN believed in the potential of SMEs to help bridge the unemployment gap in the country, hence the need to support them to create sustainable jobs for the youth.

“At MTN, we believe in SMEs, and supporting them is important because the government is doing its bit, and this is also a way we can contribute,” he added.

Mr Ato Kwamena Mensah, Founder of LbH, expressed appreciation to MTN Ghana for the support, saying the award would go a long way towards expanding the company’s operations.

“We specialise in connecting smallholder farmers with input financing and other agronomic services through structured data, so this amount will help us scale up our operations and reduce rural poverty,” he said.

The other competitors also received cash prizes and MTN digital tools to support their business operations.
