New Takoradi (WR), July 15, GNA – The South West Business District of MTN Ghana, has engaged residents of New Takoradi on their products, services and educated them on typology of fraud on the network.

The community engagement touched on fibre cut issues, activities and modus operandi of fraudsters, how to engineer stronger passwords as well as protecting their one-time passwords from individuals who may call and act as officers of the company.

Mr. Maxwell Acquah, Field Services Manager of MTN for Central, Western and Western North Regions said despite the Big Push affecting most of their underground cables, the company made a swift move to ensure that proper relocation were carried out in order for consumers to be served well.

The MTN, he stated, had undertaken lots of network expansion in the Western North areas to improve upon connectivity.

Mr. Akwasi Boateng, MoMo Channel Manager mentioned the launch of the Shine Your Eyes campaign to educate communities on new fraud techniques and how they could save their purse from these miscreants…” we are empowering communities through education to stay alert.”

He said the fraudsters could be the person next to you with access to one’s pin code adding, “don’t respond to any call that gives you numbers to add your pin number to…is the new trick of the fraudsters”.

Mr. Ken Ofusuhene, the South West Communication officer educated the community about MTN’s scholarships and urged them to take advantage of it.
