Absa Bank Ghana begins operations from new Ridge headquarters

Absa Bank Ghana has commenced operations from its newly completed head office, Absa Place, located in Ridge, Accra, marking a new chapter in the bank’s corporate journey.

In notifications sent to customers via SMS, email, letters and its Facebook page, the bank announced that its head office had officially relocated to No. 64 Independence Avenue, Ridge, and advised customers requiring branch services to visit the Absa Place branch.

“Our new facility shares an entry point with the National Insurance Commission, before the Latter-day Saints’ Church Accra Temple. Kindly visit the Absa Place branch for your banking needs,” the bank said in the message.

The relocation brings an end to the bank’s long occupancy of its historic High Street headquarters, which served as its corporate base for more than a century. The move reflects Absa’s broader transformation agenda aimed at modernising its operations and improving customer service.

While staff have already begun working from the new premises, the headquarters has not yet been formally inaugurated.

Situated along Independence Avenue in Ridge, one of Accra’s leading business and government districts, Absa Place is expected to bring the bank’s corporate functions under one roof while offering customers access to upgraded banking facilities.

The relocation also aligns with Absa Bank Ghana’s continued investment in digital banking, agency banking, support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and customer-centric innovations as it seeks to reinforce its competitiveness within Ghana’s financial services sector.

The bank is expected to announce details of the official commissioning of Absa Place in the coming weeks.
