Accra, June 17, GNA – Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has inaugurated the Board of Directors of G-Water Bottling Limited and tasked it to position the company as a leading bottled water brand.

The move forms part of GWL’s strategy to diversify its revenue streams, strengthen business operations and create sustainable value through investments beyond its core mandate of potable water production and distribution.

Mr Eric J. Biliguo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GWL, made the call at the inauguration ceremony in Accra.

He described G-Water Bottling Limited, a subsidiary of GWL established to manufacture, package and distribute drinking water, as a key component of the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Mr Biliguo said the G-Water brand had earned public confidence due to its quality, purity and taste but had yet to realise its full commercial potential because of limited market availability.

Mr Adam Mutawakilu, Managing Director of GWL, said the establishment of the subsidiary presented an opportunity for the company to leverage its expertise in water production and quality assurance to compete effectively in Ghana’s bottled water industry.

He said the company was expected to generate additional revenue, strengthen the Ghana Water brand, create employment opportunities and contribute to national economic development.

Mr Agbesi Nutsu, Chairman of the Board of G-Water Bottling Limited, pledged the Board’s commitment to providing strategic leadership and effective oversight to ensure the growth and sustainability of the company.

He said the Board recognised that the company had been established not only as a commercial enterprise but also as a strategic subsidiary of Ghana Water Limited with responsibility for manufacturing, packaging and distributing safe, reliable and high-quality drinking water.

Other Board members include Dr Hadisu Alhasan, Executive Director; Mr Sulemana Alhassan and Mr Joseph Zefo Kero, Non-Executive Directors; and Madam Innocentia Kuupiel, Chief Executive Officer.
