Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, better known as DJ Cuppy, has declared that she can’t marry a Nigerian.

Cuppy says she believes these men don’t like her and want to meet her famous father. According to the famous DJ, her father doesn’t even care who she marries; he just wants her to get married.

“I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible.
The last one I dated was asking me when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even think they liked me.

My dad doesn’t even care who I marry; he just wants me to get married.

That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi”.

In a previous podcast, Cuppy opened up about her struggle, disclosing that she had gone on dates with different types of men, including a bus driver and a guy who lives with his mum. Cuppy said her desperation for love had led her to be used by men who took advantage of her vulnerability. The daughter of Otedola said she no longer puts expectations on men and was learning to be a bit less in control.

Late last year, for the umpteenth time, she had lamented over her single status. While sharing a photo of herself at an event, noting that it was another night and a charity gala without her number one.

Cuppy shared some of the things she loves about being single. She revealed that she can eat dinner alone and actually focus on the food. She noted that there wasn’t any small talk, as it was just her and her plate.

Since her failed engagement to British boxer, Ryan Taylor, Cuppy has been giving daily updates about her relationship life.

The ‘Jollof’ singer shared her experience with a guy who wanted to flirt with her. She said that after the church service, a man approached her and asked if she would stay for the second service.

The daughter of Otedola had revealed the type of men who DM her. She bragged about making it big and made it known that she has lots of suitors in her DMs, but none of them can spell Pomeranian.

She said that anytime she page, she sees wedding photos online, she reminds God again.

Last year, while talking with her mum and sisters, she stated that though she wasn’t dating right now, and had been talking to people and praying that the best man wins.

Taking her hunt for a spouse to the extreme, she had contemplated switching her taste in men, as she pondered on if she should marry an Indian man.

In 2024, she had made a deep prayer to God. She prayed that she may be deep in God and that her husband would seek him first before he finds her
