STL-Amandi Foundation Ghana (SAF), in collaboration with the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), have successfully concluded the six-month Generation of Academic Leaders (GOAL) Project.

The initiative uniquely paired university students from UPSA as mentors to 25 young pupils from Dzorwulu Primary School in Accra, fostering a powerful big-brother/big-sister dynamic.

This partnership provided academic support, mentorship, aptitude development, and essential learning resources aimed at strengthening the young students’ confidence and academic performance.

The programme concluded with an End-of-Year GOAL Project celebration hosted at UPSA, bringing together students, volunteers, and university representatives.

The event was attended by Ms. Yamit Eckhous, Head of SAF, alongside the Dean of Students, Prof. Philomena Dadzie; Vice Dean of Students, Prof. Anthony Kumasey; Mr. Ebenezer Asiedu, Industrial Relations Officer at UPSA; and Rev. Acheampong from the Registrar’s Office, who commended the spirit of mentorship, volunteerism, and community impact demonstrated throughout the initiative.

Celebrating 20 years of impact

This milestone initiative coincides with SAF celebrating 20 years of giving back to Ghanaian communities through impactful health and education interventions. Supported by its dedicated sponsors since 2006, SAF’s two-decade journey reflects a deep commitment to sustainable community development.

The success of the GOAL programme is a testament to this enduring legacy, driven by the unwavering commitment of the SAF and UPSA mentors and volunteers.

Their guidance, mentorship, and investment in young minds continue to create meaningful opportunities and a supportive learning environment that empowers students both academically and personally.
