Veteran Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello, has given unconventional advice to young women about being a commercial sex worker.
Naija News reports that Bello, while featuring in a recent episode of the Moraya Show, said ladies involved in prostitution should do the work unashamedly.
According to the movie star, ladies engage in commercial sex work for survival or pressing needs.
Bello said she does not judge them but rather encourage them to do it well with respect.
She, however, warned that women who go into sex work due to pressing needs should not stay there permanently.
She said, “If what you are doing now is being a ‘runs girl’ to make money, you don’t have to stay there. I understand it, I never judge. If you go be ashawo, do am well. Do it well with respect and your full-chest.
“However, don’t stay there. If that is what you have to do right now to make a living. Some girls are doing it because they need to feed mom, send their younger ones to school. I understand it. However, my darlings, don’t stay there.”
Meanwhile, Shaffy Bello has opined that not every actor has to be a movie producer, stating that she does not feel compelled to do so.
Bello explained that acting was the means through which she gained recognition and became a household name, stressing that actors should identify and remain true to their individual callings rather than pursue roles that do not align with their talents.
She said, “I am an actor. Every actor does not have to be a producer. I face my lane. I do what God asks me to do. And he asked me to have an impact.
“He gave me a platform, and after I got that platform, it became so stressful. That once in a while I would remember the days I was on my knees asking to be a household name. Now I am.
“He then came back and said I have given you a platform, what are you going to do with it?”
