Nollywood actor Bucci Franklin has opened up about the pain of losing his mother and why people should value their parents while they are still alive.
Naija News reports that the actor shared his emotional experience during an interview with Chude where he spoke about grief, love, and family.
According to him, losing someone close changed the way he sees life and made him understand the true meaning of love.
Bucci explained that grief comes from loving someone deeply. He said people may not fully understand how much they love a person until they lose them.
The actor revealed that the most important person in his life was his mother and her death left a deep wound in his heart.
He also spoke about how his mother raised him well and helped shape the person he became. Remembering her brought visible emotion as he reflected on the pain of her absence.
The movie star advised people not to allow busy schedules or family issues stop them from reaching out to their parents. He said even those who may not have a perfect relationship with their parents should still make an effort to check on them while they still have the chance.
Bucci encouraged people to spend time with their parents in simple ways by calling them, talking to them, and making them happy. He said there will come a day when many people would wish they could hear their parents’ voices or share happy moments with them again.
He said: “My mom raised me right. I’ve come to understand that grief is a sign that you really did understand the meaning of love. So, you must lose someone before you know you can love. The most important person in my life… I lost that person.
“My advice to everybody that has a parent, whether your parent is useless or not, find time, reach out to them. Call them, make them laugh, because a time will come when you will wish you had the opportunity to just play with them again.”
