Accra, May 16, GNA – Advtech, a leading South African private education provider, has launched Rosebank International as part of a rebranding and strategic initiative to position its flagship Independent Institute of Education (IIE) Rosebank College for full university status.

The rebrand reinforces Advtech’s pan-African strategy through its direct link with Rosebank International University College (RIUC) in Accra, the company’s first university outside South Africa.

A release copied to the Ghana News Agency on Sunday said the rebranding marked a major step towards expanding access to high-quality, future-focused tertiary education across Africa.

“Rosebank International builds on decades of proven delivery to create an institution defined by standards, not labels – one with deep academic credibility, long-standing international accreditation, and a track record of consistent results,” the release said.

“Rosebank International represents the next chapter for our iconic brand, building on IIE Rosebank College’s legacy while positioning it firmly on the path to university status.”

Mr Geoff Whyte, Group CEO of Advtech, said the institution would deliver transformative education that produced work-ready graduates capable of driving Africa’s future.

Through its direct link with the RIUC in Accra, the two institutions aimed to build a strong pan-African platform for cross-border collaboration, research, and academic exchange, he said.

Professor Linda Meyer, Managing Director and President of Rosebank International and RIUC Ghana, said the institution would position Africa as a knowledge gateway and an active contributor to global knowledge production.

“As a conduit for international academic exchange, we are advancing pan-Africanism as academic practice, developing leaders equipped for African contexts with global relevance,” she was quoted as saying.

“With our proven track record of outstanding academic outcomes and student success, Rosebank International is poised to set new benchmarks in higher education as we advance towards full university recognition,”

“Rosebank International continuesto record strong outcomes that support its university ambitions.”

The institution boasts of high alumni placement rates, an 85 per cent module success rate, and a strong focus on graduate employability, alumni impact, research contribution, and societal value.

Dr George Asamoah, Vice President of RIUC, described the transition to Rosebank International as a defining moment in efforts to build a truly connected pan-African academic ecosystem.

Dr Mimmy Gondwe, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, South Africa, described the launch of Rosebank International as an important development within South Africa’s higher education landscape.

“This development reflects the kind of bold private-sector innovation South Africa needs,” she said.

“Together, the public and private sectors can work towards realising our shared goal of expanding access to quality university-level education, while producing skilled graduates empowered to drive our economy and the African continent forward.”

The release added that Rosebank International would expand its portfolio of accredited programmes, with emphasis on innovation, technology, Africa’s development priorities, and the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy.
