The splinter political movements in Ghana are purely waste of spaceand resources

The splinter political movements in Ghana are purely waste of spaceand resources

In Ghana, we have more than needed political parties or movements, if the writer should be honest with Ghanaians. The political arena is already saturated, yet we have some aggrieved individuals still splitting from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to form their own political movements to compound the situation.

The ”Independent Butterfly” movement formed by Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng aka Alan Cash to contest the presidential election 2024, and the recently most touted “The Base”, are both distractions, if not obstructions, to the progress of Ghana.

The founders of these splinter political movements are aggrieved individuals who see themselves as too qualified to be good followers hence hastily myopically quitting the NPP to form their own political parties or movements.

However, the famous Greek philosopher Aristotle, said, “He who cannot be a good follower cannot be a good leader”.

They feel too big in their shoes to submit themselves to the realistic authority of others obviously seen as the people’s choice to lead at such specific times hence decide to quit NPP to form their political parties or movements to contest general elections.

Their intentions have always been, if I can’t succeed, everyone else must fail. They feel too proud and big in their shoes to be followers until the right time but want to be leaders when the signs and seasons seem not too favourable for their such qualification. No wonder that they perform abysmally in party primary and or, general elections yet they don’t care a hoot.

It has become a realistic fact that almost all Ghanaian politicians are corrupt and do not waste time to indulge in malfeasances when the opportunity offers itself even when so deceptively. Nonetheless, the writer cautions those members in NPP that feel too big to wait a little while but rush into misleading conclusions that it is their time or turn to lead and failing to have that chance, they decide to quit to form their own parties only to be rejected by the voters at the end of the day.

Their actions are always to undermine or sabotage he who is the majority’s preferred candidate at the time to cost themselves and the preferred candidate victory.

Although it is a known public fact that the NDC are not good economic managers and are overwhelmingly liars, the bemoaning actions by the NPP splinter groups always facilitate the chances of NDC winning elections.

Do the leaders and supporters of the splinter groups care if NPP continue to lose elections to prevent Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia from ever becoming the president of Ghana on the ticket of NPP? I hope not. What a shame!

It is only some members of NPP and a few Ghanaian floating voters but not NDC’s that will flock to the camp of the splinter movements avowedly forming a third political force to challenge the already two main political parties in Ghana.

If you love the nation Ghana, stop your selfish sabotaging acts to rather find a common ground to push for the success of Ghana for the collective benefit of all and sundry, ye aggrieved NPP leaders and supporters.

“The Base” political movement is not a solution but part of the problem. They are presenting themselves to the public as sheep but are wolves in lamb skins. They are not the angels you think but surely the devil incarnates, by the looks of their hasty actions.

The writer will campaign for NPP and Dr Bawumia but will not hesitate to chastise them any day anytime that they err but will not join any of these time cum space wasting splinter groups mooted or formed by aggrieved fame and wealth-seeking opportunists.
