“He needs your support” – Kurt Okraku rallies backing for new Black Stars coach

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has called for unity and strong support behind the Black Stars’ new head coach as Ghana begins a fresh chapter.

Addressing stakeholders, Okraku emphasized the importance of collective effort off the pitch, noting that success is driven not only by players and coaches but also by those working behind the scenes.

“The team behind the team is very important. Each one of you here does a lot of hard work behind the scenes before success is achieved on the pitch,” he said.

He explained that the decision to formally introduce the new coach to key stakeholders was intentional, aimed at fostering unity and building a strong support base from the outset.

“So once we have a new coach, we thought it prudent to bring him home, to introduce him to all of you, and to ask for your support,” Okraku stated.

The GFA President further stressed that the new coach is now part of the Ghanaian football family and will need the backing of all stakeholders to succeed.

“Our mission here is very simple: he’s part of us, and he needs our support—he needs your support,” he added.

Okraku also expressed appreciation for the continued commitment shown to the national team, urging stakeholders to maintain their support as the Black Stars embark on a new journey.

“On behalf of the team from the FA, we thank you for all the support over time, and we want to respectfully ask you to continue to offer us your support as we begin a new chapter,” he concluded.

The remarks come as Ghana looks to rebuild and strengthen the Black Stars under new leadership, with hopes of restoring the team’s competitiveness on the continental and global stage.
