Kisa Gbekle
Actress and producer, Kisa Gbekle, has revealed that she is currently single and not actively seeking a romantic relationship, stating that she sees little value in pursuing one outside of marriage.
Speaking in an interview on Atuu! hosted by Nana Romeo on UTV on Saturday, the actress questioned what a man could add to her life beyond intimacy.
During the discussion, the host highlighted the importance of companionship in relationships. However, Gbekle, who is a mother of one, dismissed the notion, explaining that the emotional support typically expected from a partner is already fulfilled in her daily life with her son.
She noted that routine gestures such as checking in or asking about her well-being are already part of her life, making her feel content without the need for a romantic partner.
Despite her current stance, Gbekle clarified that she remains open to marriage if the right person comes along. She emphasised that any future relationship would be grounded in strong values, particularly her decision to abstain from sex before marriage.
“I am single but not searching. If I get a man, what would the person do for me aside from sexual intercourse?” she said. “If God permits and I meet someone who wants to marry me, I will go for it.”
The actress stressed that her decision stems from past experiences with casual relationships, which she says she no longer wishes to repeat. According to her, she has moved away from what she described as “hit and go” encounters and is now focused on a more intentional and principled approach to relationships.
Kisa concluded by reaffirming her commitment to a “no sex before marriage” lifestyle, signalling a shift in priorities as she focuses on her personal life and motherhood.
