Kwahu‑Nkwatia (E/R), April 15, GNA – Alumni, students and staff of the School of Business of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), have been commended for their strong commitment to education and community service.
Mr Richard Kwame Nimako, Acting Head of the Department of Business Administration and Agribusiness, said true success was not measured by academic achievement alone but by the positive impact made on the lives of others.
“True success is not measured by academic achievement alone; it is measured by the impact we make on the lives of others,” he said.
Mr Nimako was speaking at the University’s annual Easter Charity event held at the Bless the Children Orphanage at Kwahu‑Nkwatia in the Eastern Region.
He said the University, particularly the School of Business Administration and Agribusiness, had demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility through donations made to the orphanage.
The items included detergents, bales of clothing, bags of rice, assorted groceries, provisions and educational materials such as school bags and exercise books.
Presenting the items on behalf of the staff of the School of Business, Mr Nimako advised the children to respect their caregivers, saying they played a vital role in protecting them and preparing them for the future.
Madam Grace Oforiwaa Yeboah, Managing Proprietress of the Bless the Children Orphanage, expressed gratitude to the School of Business for the annual donation and appealed for broader support for orphans in senior high schools and tertiary institutions to enable them complete their education.
“This support goes a long way to ease the burden on the home and encourages the children to stay focused on their education,” she said.

Mr Isaac Orekan Oluwatabi, President of the Business Administration Students Association (BASA) of PUG, called on other institutions to embrace Corporate Social Responsibility, saying such initiatives improved team morale, enhanced organisational image and positively impacted the lives of the needy.
“As business students, we are trained to lead organisations and economies. Let us therefore commit ourselves to building a culture of compassion, service and responsibility,” he said.
“When we contribute to society, we are not only uplifting others, we are adding meaning and satisfaction to our own lives,” he added.
Ms Nancy Ayongo Odoi Opong, Faculty Officer of the School of Business, said providing resources and support to children would empower them to rise above their circumstances and contribute meaningfully to national development.
