Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has shared how he realized his wife, Ivy Ifeoma, was the right partner for him.

Naija News reports that in a recent interview with Clout Africa, he spoke on his journey through love, past heartbreaks, and what drew him to Ivy.

Rudeboy described marriage as enjoyable but said it should never be treated as a do-or-die situation. “Marriage is fun, but not a do-or-die affair, and separation is allowed,” he explained, reflecting on lessons from his previous marriage to Anita Okoye, with whom he has three children.

After that marriage ended, he tried dating three other women, but none of those relationships met his expectations.

He said he was searching for someone with whom he could feel at peace. “I was looking for someone with whom I could be at peace and Ivy was that person,” he revealed, adding that she “was just her real self.”

Rudeboy shared a moment that made him realize Ivy was different. Early in their relationship, he offered to take her shopping, and she chose only two clothes.

She explained that the same money could have bought many more items at Tejuosho Market. “She picked only two clothes and told him how the money would have bought her many clothes in Tejuosho market,” the singer recalled. He added simply, “She was real.”

The singer also spoke about his music and how past relationships influenced his songs. “Some of my songs were influenced by my experience in relationships, including Reason With Me, which was inspired by an ex,” he said.

Rudeboy addressed a previous legal issue involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). “And I’ve been cleared, by the way, by the EFCC. In due time, we’re going to put out the statement,” he said.

Rudeboy is now married to Ivy Zenny, and the couple shares one daughter.
