‘I’m An Extremist’ – Funke Akindele Speaks On Cutting People Off

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has described herself as an extremist while speaking on the decision to cut people off after hurting her.

Naija News reports that Funke, during an interview with media personality, Morayo Afolabi on her YouTube show, admitted that she is not perfect and can be troublesome.

The movie star further recalled her late mother’s caution about trying to change people to suit her personality, stressing that not everyone can be as smart and enthusiastic as she is about getting things done.

Funke Akindele also recalled how her colleague, Uzee Usman, changed her perspective on relationships with people, urging her to accept people for who they are.

The thespian added that human relationships are very important and she is still learning about relationships with people, but will always put her mental health first.

She said, “I am not proud of that, and I am proud of it. There must be a balance.

I am an extremist, I love so hard, and I am real and open. I am not perfect, but I can be troublesome. My mother, when she was alive, would tell me that people can’t be like me, they can’t be as smart and fast as I am, and I should calm down.

“I thank God for someone like Uzee Usman in my life. There was a day he sat me down when I was complaining about people’s behaviour. He told me that I am a leader and I should accept people as they are. For the first time, I sat down, and I was quiet. I left my food, almost in tears, because what he said was true. I told him I would try to manage.

“Human relationships for me are very important, and I am learning every day, but no matter what happens, my mental health is paramount.”
