Aflao (V/R), March 17, GNA — The Voice of Miracle Prayer Church International has supported more than 500 widows in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region with food items and cash as part of its annual outreach programme aimed at providing relief and encouragement to widows in the area.
The beneficiaries received mini sacks of maize and cash support during this year’s outreach, which forms part of the church’s long-standing initiative to assist widows and other vulnerable persons within the municipality.
The programme, which has been running for several years, continues to attract a growing number of beneficiaries as awareness of the initiative spreads across communities in the municipality.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Apostle Jacob Henyo, Founder of The Voice of Miracle Prayer Church International, who is also known as Torgbui Hezekiel, said the church had remained committed to supporting widows as part of its spiritual and social mission.

He explained that the initiative was inspired by biblical teachings that encourage believers to care for widows and the vulnerable in society.
According to him, the church considers the annual programme not only as a charitable activity but also as a spiritual responsibility to show compassion and practical support to widows who often face economic and social challenges.
Apostle Henyo said the inspiration for this year’s support programme was drawn from Isaiah 61:1–3, which speaks about bringing comfort to the brokenhearted and support to those in need.
He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the initiative, noting that the church would continue to support widows in the municipality as long as the ministry remained active.
He said the programme had become a key part of the church’s outreach activities, adding that the leadership and members remained dedicated to praying with and supporting the widows each year.
Apostle Henyo also noted that the church continued to witness a steady growth in membership, which he attributed to the spiritual activities of the ministry and the social support extended to communities.
Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the church for assistance.
Madam Helina Seshie, one of the beneficiaries, told the GNA that this was the third time she had benefited from the programme.
She said the support had been helpful to many widows in the municipality and commended the church for its continued concern for their welfare.
Madam Seshie also thanked Apostle Jacob Henyo (Torgbui Hezekiel) for honouring what she described as God’s call to care for widows through both prayer and material support.
Many beneficiaries described the initiative as timely, noting that it helped ease some of the financial pressures widows faced in supporting their households.
