Prof Sunny Awhefeada recently became the Vice Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Ozoro.

Prof Awhefeada’s academic journey began at the University of Benin, where he earned a degree in English Language from the Department of English. His passion for literature and language was evident from the start, and he was deter­mined to make a name for himself in the academic world.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Awhefeada went on to pursue his master’s degree, and later, his Ph.D. in English Literature. His academic prow­ess and dedication to his craft earned him recognition, and he soon found himself on the faculty of Delta State University (DELSU).

At DELSU, Awhefeada’s star contin­ued to shine. He became a respected lec­turer, known for his engaging teaching style and his ability to inspire students to explore the world of literature. His research and publications in reputable journals earned him accolades, and he soon became a leading voice in the de­partment.

It wasn’t long before Awhefeada was appointed Head of the Department of English. He brought a new level of en­ergy and vision to the role, and his col­leagues respected him for his fairness, wisdom, and commitment to academic excellence.

As HOD, Awhefeada continued to publish groundbreaking research and books, cementing his reputation as a leading scholar in his field. His expertise in literature and language was sought after by universities and institutions across the country, and he became a re­spected voice in academic circles.

When the position of Vice Chancellor at Southern Delta University, Ozoro, be­came available, Awhefeada’s name was at the top of the list. His track record of academic excellence, administrative prowess, and commitment to the ad­vancement of education made him the ideal candidate for the job.

The selection process was rigorous, but in the end, Awhefeada’s hard work and dedication paid off. He was appoint­ed the substantive Vice Chancellor of Western Delta University, Ozoro, and the news sent waves of joy through the academic community.

The Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari ‘s presentation of the letter of appointment to Prof. Sunny Awhefea­da as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Ozoro, marked a new phase for the institution’s growth and academic development.
