Ghana Police Service has arrested a 45-year-old man, Isaac Boafo, popularly known as ‘Duabo King,’ for allegedly publishing false information with intent to cause fear and panic.

In a press release dated March 1, 2026, the Ashanti Regional Police Command said the arrest followed a viral TikTok video in which the suspect claimed that four officers stationed at the Central Police Station in Kumasi engaged in inappropriate conduct with commercial sex workers during night patrols at Asafo.

According to the statement, officers from the Police Intelligence Directorate in the Ashanti Region acted on intelligence to apprehend the suspect.

“Acting on intelligence, officers from the Police Intelligence Directorate (Ashanti Region) apprehended the suspect,” the statement said.

During interrogation, Isaac Boafo reportedly admitted to publishing the video, explaining that he is a social media content creator who made the allegations solely to attract views and boost online engagement.

He has since been formally charged and remains in police custody to assist with ongoing investigations.

The Police cautioned the public against the publication and circulation of false information, particularly on social media, warning that such actions can cause unnecessary fear, panic, and reputational damage.

They stressed that individuals found engaging in such conduct will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
