President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, February 27, 2026, delivered the 2026 State of the Nation Address, outlining his government’s priorities for the year ahead.

He noted that although his administration inherited a distressed economy, significant progress has been made in stabilising the country and placing it on a path to recovery.

He acknowledged that the road to economic recovery has been challenging but stressed that the government’s policy measures are beginning to yield positive results.

“I was clear from the outset that recovery would not come easily, but I was also clear that I would stop at nothing to turn this situation around and bring relief to Ghanaians.

“I promised then that, just as I have confronted and overcome crises in the past, I would reset our economy and return us to a path of growth, progress and development,” he stated.
