Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited, a ceramics and sanitary wares manufacturer operating on a 24-hour shift system, has used its recent commissioning and sod-cutting ceremony to reaffirm its alignment with the government’s 24-hour economy policy.

The event, held on 24th February 2026, marked a major expansion of the company’s operations beyond ceramics manufacturing to include glass production, cementing its position as a leading manufacturer in Ghana.

President John Dramani Mahama, the special guest of honour, praised Keda (Ghana) for leveraging Ghana’s macroeconomic stability to expand its investment in the country.

He also commended the company for operating a 24-hour shift system in line with his government’s 24-Hour Economy Policy and assured that the government is committed to creating a more supportive investment environment to strengthen local manufacturing.

“Let me take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited for its continued investment in Ghana’s industrial development. Your commitment to this nation, demonstrated through this expanded investment, speaks volumes about your confidence in Ghana’s future. We will continue to push for a better investment environment with incentives similar to the 24-Hour Economy Authority framework for investors like Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited, which is in full compliance with the terms and conditions,” he stated.

The Managing Director of Keda (Ghana) Ceramics, Li Wei, described the 24-hour economy policy as timely and crucial to reshaping Ghana’s economic landscape. He highlighted Keda (Ghana) as a concrete example of how continuous operations drive growth, improve operational efficiency, and generate employment.

He explained that the company’s round-the-clock operations have enabled it to maximise production capacity to meet both domestic and export demand, create jobs, and contribute to the country’s GDP.

“Our operations align with the 24-Hour Economy policy. We operate around the clock to ensure continuous production for both domestic consumption and export, helping to reduce Ghana’s dependence on imported ceramics,” he said.

Beyond continuous operations, Keda (Ghana) sources nearly all its raw materials locally, supporting the 24-hour economy agenda to strengthen domestic value chains.

“Central to sustaining our round-the-clock operations is value addition. We source nearly all raw materials locally to manufacture our products, promoting sustainability, strengthening local supply chains, and retaining value within the Ghanaian economy,” he added.

The Group Chair, Y.C. Shen, linked the company’s ability to maintain continuous operations and its expansion drive to recent improvements in Ghana’s macroeconomic climate.

“I want to start by praising the government for the significant macroeconomic advancements made in recent years. The foundation of investor confidence is macroeconomic stability. This stability builds trust, and trust attracts investment. When investors see clear direction, consistency in economic management, and structural reforms, they respond positively,” he stated.

He also referenced the recent passage of the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill by parliament, describing it as a reflection of the government’s commitment to Ghana’s economic transformation.

“With the parliamentary approval of the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill, Ghana sends a powerful message to investors worldwide that it is open for business. For manufacturers like us, this policy enables continuous production and expanded output, enhancing competitiveness.”
