Naba Alhaji Abuba Nasinmong is Paramount Chief of Bunkprugu Naba Alhaji Abuba Nasinmong is Paramount Chief of Bunkprugu

Paramount Chief of Bunkprugu, Naba Alhaji Abuba Nasinmong, has rejected a ruling by the National House of Chiefs declaring his enskinment null and void.

Speaking after the ruling on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Naba Nasinmong said he intends to challenge the decision in court.

“…..I’m saying that I am the rightful owner of Bunkprugu. I don’t know how to tell lies… Allah Almighty is in control. This will not end here,” he stated.

After nearly two decades of legal disputes and traditional tensions, Naba Nasinmong received official recognition from the National House of Chiefs.

Enskinment of Bawku Naaba: Sending the Chief to Bawku is easy for me – Bunkprugu Naaba

A Gazette published on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, formally affirmed his status as the legitimate ruler of the Bunkprugu Traditional Area, a milestone many residents said ended years of uncertainty and stalled development.

Celebrations erupted across the township, marked by traditional rituals and community gatherings in his honour.

Although he assumed the skin in May 2007 following the death of his predecessor, his reign was immediately contested by rival factions, plunging the community into legal battles.
