Ghanaian musician Wisa Greid has expressed dissatisfaction with the role of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), stating that he does not see any tangible benefits the union offers to musicians.

Speaking in an interview on Starr FM on February 23, 2026, Wisa Greid questioned the impact of the musicians’ union on the industry.

“Honestly speaking, I don’t really see what MUSIGA is doing for us, the musicians. I don’t see the benefits or anything at all,” he said.

According to him, he joined MUSIGA at the beginning of his music career with the hope of receiving some form of support.

“When I started doing music, I went there because I thought I could definitely get help from them, like something at least. Ever since I joined, I don’t know what they do to help the music industry,” he shared.

The musician further indicated that conversations among some senior players in the industry have not inspired confidence in the union’s effectiveness.

“Sometimes, when our seniors in the industry are talking about this, you won’t even be motivated to associate yourself with them. I don’t want to involve myself or pay attention to them because I don’t want to say something that I’m not supposed to say,” he stated.

Wisa Greid also questioned what upcoming artistes stand to gain if established musicians are not visibly benefiting from the union.

“Moreover, I don’t know what they will give me because if the senior artistes are not really benefiting from them, then what will I gain?” he added.
