Justin Frimpong Kodua is the General Secretary of the NPP
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Koduah, has given a strong assurance that the party’s upcoming internal elections will be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner, stressing that no individual will be protected or favored.
Speaking on OTEC FM’s afternoon political programme, Dwabrem, on Monday, February 23, 2026, Frimpong Koduah stated that the party remains committed to upholding democratic principles throughout the electoral process. The programme was hosted by Prince Nii Ardey, popularly known as Dr Cash.
“We won’t protect anyone. The process will be free and fair for all aspirants,” he declared. “This is not about favoritism or manipulation. It is about competencies, commitment, credibility, and integrity.”
The NPP General Secretary also dismissed claims that the party’s flag bearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, would interfere in the process to influence outcomes in favor of any candidate.
According to him, Dr Bawumia is fully committed to ensuring transparency and fairness.
“Our flag bearer, Dr Bawumia, will not manipulate the process,” he emphasized. “He believes in the democratic values of the party and wants the best candidates to emerge through a credible and competitive process.”
Frimpong Koduah further urged party members to remain united and focused, adding that the strength of the NPP lies in its adherence to internal democracy and merit-based leadership selection.
He reiterated that the party’s internal contest would be anchored on the core values of competence, commitment, credibility, and integrity, insisting that those qualities would guide the selection of leaders at all levels.
