Ghanaian social media users have been sharing their thoughts after videos emerged of a Shea Butter massage parlour based in Lagos, Nigeria.

The parlour, which initially offered various massage services, recently posted a video showing attendants dressed in traditional Ghanaian outfits.

Calabashes filled with Shea Butter were placed beside them as they introduced the product in several Nigerian languages and offered massages using it.

Many Ghanaians online, however, argued that the concept appeared to be a direct imitation of the popular Shea Butter Museum in Ghana.

The Shea Butter Museum, owned by former beauty queen Hamamat Montia, gained massive popularity in January 2026 after American livestreamer IShowSpeed visited and received the now-viral ‘Kuriya Kuriya’ massage.

The visit led to massive international interest in Shea butter in Ghana and left the museum fully booked for the first half of the year.

Hamamat, was then recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts as an Ambassador for Shea Butter.

Since then, the museum and its signature massage have become a major tourist attraction, drawing celebrities such as Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido and Jamaican Dancehall superstar Popcaan.

With the latest video from Nigeria, many Ghanaians have accused the Lagos parlour of copying Ghana’s Shea Butter massage concept, particularly the use of Kente attire by attendants.

Nigerians will see you do something and not support you but rather copy it .

They lacks creativity but will open their stinking mouths to say others envy them .
