Residents of Ejule community in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State have raised alarm over alleged abduction of 10 passengers at Aloma-Ejule road.

The 10 passengers were forcefully abducted after the gunmen ambushed them along the highway.

The victims of the attack were the occupants of three vehicles – a Siena bus, a Honder Accord and a Jeep.

The Guardian learnt that the incident occurred on the Feb 9, 2026, at about 5 pm when the gunmen stormed the highway and mounted barricades. The first three vehicles that ran into the barricade were the 10 victims currently in the kidnappers’ custody.

The vehicles were said to be heading towards Enugu State from Ejule, Ofu LGA, Kogi State.

Four of the victims were occupants of the Siena bus, three passengers in the Honda Accord, while the Jeep had three passengers.

Other victims who escaped abduction received gun wounds and are said to be receiving medical attention at Comprehensive Hospital in Alloma.

The Guardian also learnt that a joint effort by men of the Nigerian army, Vigilante and Police is currently on the trail of the kidnappers.

Concerned residents have called on the Kogi State government to quickly deploy the surveillance drones recently purchased by the state government to track the criminals and rescue the victims.

At the time of filling this report, efforts to get the reaction of the Kogi State Police Command were unsuccessful as the phone line of the Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, could not be reached.
