According to Alex, Agyapong told his supporters that he was worried about Prophet Elbernard
Founder and President of the Centre for International Trade and Education Ghana (CITEG), Alex Kwaku Tetteh, has revealed comments made by presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong concerning the General Overseer of Spirit Life Revival Ministries, Prophet Elbernard Nelson-Eshun, ahead of the January 31, 2026, New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
According to Alex Tetteh, Kennedy Agyapong told his supporters that he was worried about Prophet Elbernard following a prophecy the clergyman made concerning his political fortunes.
Speaking in an interview on Top FM on February 3, 2026, Alex Tetteh recounted that Kennedy Agyapong expressed fear for the prophet, saying he was “going too deep” and placing too much emphasis on the prophecy within his church.
“He said he was scared for Elbernard. He felt the prophet was going too far and putting too much pressure on his church because of him. I kept thinking about what he said the whole night,” Tetteh explained.
He further suggested that Kennedy Agyapong believed he was seeing things his supporters could not see.

He added that the former Assin Central MP felt some of his followers were being misled.
Alex Tetteh also stated that Kennedy Agyapong appeared to have anticipated his defeat in the primaries.
Prior to the elections, Prophet Elbernard had repeatedly prophesied that Kennedy Agyapong would emerge victorious in the NPP presidential primaries, claiming that an angel of God had revealed the outcome to him.
In one declaration made at his church, Prophet Elbernard told Kennedy Agyapong, “The angel said I should tell you face to face that on January 31, 2026, the number you picked during the balloting, which has become your symbol, will also be your position after the election.”
However, following the primaries, Prophet Elbernard publicly apologised after the prophecy failed to materialise.
In a detailed statement shared on his Facebook page, he admitted his error, stating, “That word did not come to pass. I missed it. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness.”
He acknowledged the impact of his public declaration and accepted full responsibility for the failed prophecy.
“Because I spoke publicly with prophetic authority, many people trusted my word, and some were affected emotionally, spiritually, and politically. I take full responsibility for this prophetic word. I do not blame anyone or shift responsibility,” he said.
The prophet also apologised to those who acted based on his message, expressing regret for any disappointment caused. He added that the experience had led him to pause, reflect, and reassess how prophetic revelations should be communicated.
In the end, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emerged victorious in the NPP presidential primaries, securing the party’s flagbearer position for the 2028 general elections.
According to official results released after the close of polls on January 31, 2026, Dr Bawumia garnered 110,645 votes, representing 56.48 percent.
Kennedy Agyapong placed second with 46,554 votes (23.76 percent), followed by Dr Bryan Acheampong with 36,303 votes (18.53 percent).
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum obtained 1,999 votes (1.02 percent), while Kwabena Agyapong secured 402 votes (0.21 percent).
