Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Ossai Success, has berated the wife of Nigerian singer, Davido, Chioma Adeleke, over the revealing outfit at the Grammys.
Naija News reports that the 68th Grammy Awards held at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night, and Davido, who was nominated for ‘Best African Music performance’, attended the ceremony with Chioma, his elder sister, Sharon Adeleke, and others.
Chioma, who was making her debut at the prestigious event, wore a sheer dress that has sparked outrage on social media.
In a post on his Facebook page, Success expressed disappointment in Chioma, stressing that she should not have gone to the event half-naked.
According to the Governor’s aide, Chioma failed to adequately represent Nigerian culture, adding that the outfit will negatively influence many young Nigerians.
He said, “I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s dressing: She shouldn’t have been half-naked at the Grammy. She didn’t represent Nigerian culture well, embracing a half-naked, revealing Western style instead.
“As a role model to many Nigerian young ladies, her dressing internationally will negatively influence them. I also expected Davido to guide her better.
“Cultural representation matters, and it’s crucial. I am disappointed in Davido for allowing her to dress this way. I am really disappointed.”
