The Communications Directorate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially congratulated Dr Mahamudu Bawumia following his victory in the party’s presidential primaries, describing the outcome as a clear demonstration of delegates’ confidence in his leadership and vision.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Directorate, party communicators noted that the decisive result signals a renewed mandate for Dr Bawumia to lead the party into what they described as a new phase of renewal, growth, and strategic repositioning ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The directorate also commended the other aspirants who participated in the contest, praising them for accepting the outcome and committing themselves to the party’s collective future.

According to the statement, their participation strengthened the NPP’s internal democratic tradition and reinforced the party’s culture of competitive but respectful political engagement.

The statement emphasized that with the primaries concluded, the party’s focus must now shift from internal competition to unity and rebuilding.

The Directorate called on the unsuccessful candidates, their supporters, and the broader party membership to rally fully behind Dr Bawumia as flagbearer.

“The time for competition has passed; the time for unity, healing, and hard work has arrived,” the statement said, stressing that collective effort will be crucial in repositioning the party for victory in the next general election.

The Communications Directorate further highlighted the NPP’s history of emerging stronger after internal contests, noting that unity after competition has consistently been one of the party’s greatest strengths.

It expressed confidence that by closing ranks and speaking with one voice, the party can reconnect with its traditional support base, broaden its national appeal, and present what it described as a credible and compelling alternative to Ghanaians.

The Directorate also urged party communicators and grassroots supporters to project unity, discipline, and purpose in all public engagements, noting that the road to the 2028 elections effectively begins now.

The statement concluded by reiterating the party’s commitment to togetherness, strategic communication, and a shared belief in the future of the NPP.
