The Founder of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, has announced a temporary withdrawal from preaching, following the release of a public apology and a statement of accountability over a prophetic matter.

Addressing his congregation during church service on Sunday, February 1, 2026, ElBernard said his decision was guided by principles outlined in his own book, School of Prophecy, particularly a chapter titled “When prophets miss it.”

FLASHBACK: ‘The Angel said I should tell you face to face’ – Prophet Elbernard to Ken

According to him, the book, though written years ago, was released in 2025, and clearly defines the steps a prophet must take when a prophetic word does not come to pass.

“There are several things I need to say even before the service comes to an end. In my book, in the School of Prophecy, in chapter 16, page 125, the title is ‘When prophets miss it’. This is a book I wrote several years ago, but was released last year, and I outlined what must happen and what must be done when a prophet misses a prophetic word,” he said.

Prophet ElBernard stressed that he does not seek sympathy from church members but rather accountability, noting that integrity remains central to his calling.

“… I am not the type of pastor who needs encouragement because I am already an encouragement. I need you as a member of this family to hold me up to integrity and hold me up to whatever I say the Lord said. I need you to hold me up to that realm of accountability,” he told his congregation.

He explained that he has already taken initial steps by releasing two statements, one being a public apology and the other a formal statement of accountability.

“For now, I have submitted to the writings in this book, and I’ve released two statements. One is the public statement and apology. Number two is the statement of accountability. I have released these statements for now… Because I hold myself accountable, everything I wanted to tell you is in that statement,” he indicated.

The prophet told congregants that while he understands reactions may vary, he remains committed to the church and its members, even as he steps back from the pulpit.

“I can’t determine and influence how you respond and how you react, but I just wanted to understand that I am still here. I am not going to ask you to stay here, nor am I asking you to leave, but in the spirit of humility and accountability, I have told you what I would do for now. I will be back. There are so many things to say, but at the right time I will say what must be said,” he continued.

As part of the accountability process, the prophet disclosed that he will not be preaching for several weeks, although he will continue to attend church services.

Despite the situation, Prophet ElBernard used the moment to remind congregants of foundational Christian values he says he has taught over the years.

“So, this morning, I’m not going to preach the word of God to you for several weeks. I will not be preaching, even though I’ll be in service. I have taught you over the years that no matter what happens to you, there are two important things you don’t have to lose; number one, never lose God. You’re believing the Lord Jesus Christ, you’re believing what he can do.

“And number two, never lose yourself because if you lose yourself, there will not be you. My name is Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun,” he said amid cheers from the congregation.
