John Boadu, an aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to party members and supporters to conduct themselves with discipline, fairness and mutual respect ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

In a statement issued on Thursday, January 29, 2026, and addressed to all media houses, Boadu stressed that the presidential primaries represent a critical moment in the democratic journey of the NPP and must be approached with a deep sense of responsibility.

According to him, the process should reflect the core values of the party, including discipline, fairness, unity, and respect for one another, noting that all aspirants and their supporters remain members of the same political family, regardless of the outcome.

“As we approach this crucial exercise, it is therefore vital that all presidential aspirants conduct their campaigns with decorum, mutual respect, and discipline, bearing in mind that we remain members of one united family,” the statement said.

Boadu further urged delegates to exercise their franchise guided by the supreme interest of the NPP and the collective aspiration of Ghanaians for competent, principled, and visionary leadership.

He cautioned against any conduct that could undermine the integrity and credibility of the primaries, calling on all stakeholders to reject violence, intimidation, insults and acts that may derail the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

“A peaceful, transparent, and credible election will strengthen our party and position us firmly for the task ahead,” he noted.

The aspiring National Chairman also underscored the need for unity after the primaries, urging party members to close ranks and heal any divisions in order to focus on securing victory in the 2028 general elections.

Boadu commended the Presidential Election Committee for what he described as the impressive work done so far and called on party leadership and security agencies to ensure a peaceful, orderly and successful presidential primary.

He concluded by invoking divine guidance for the nation and the party, wishing Ghana and the NPP well ahead of the crucial exercise.
