An Accra High Court has granted the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) additional time to file and serve further disclosures in the ongoing Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) case involving former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and seven others.
According to a report by graphic.com.gh, the order was issued by Justice Francis Aponga Achiponga during a case management conference held on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
At the hearing, the Principal Prosecutor at the OSP, Adelaide Kobiri Woode, informed the court that the prosecution had amended the charge sheet to properly reflect the title of the sixth accused person, Kwadwo Damoah, to include “Hon.”

She said the amended charge sheet, which contains charges earlier agreed upon by the parties in court, had been duly served on all the accused persons.
On disclosures, Woode told the court that the Republic had already filed some witness statements with attached exhibits and served them on the accused persons. However, she acknowledged that the defence had been short-served.
She explained that there were additional disclosures the prosecution intended to file, noting that delays had arisen due to the voluminous nature of some of the exhibits being compiled.
Adelaide Kobiri Woode further disclosed that although the matter had been scheduled for a case management conference, extradition processes involving Ken Ofori-Atta and Ernest Akore were still ongoing.
According to her, the Attorney General had transmitted the relevant extradition documents to the United States.

She added that documents relating to the issuance of summons on Ofori-Atta and Akore, as previously ordered by the court, had also been forwarded to the International Desk of the Attorney-General’s Department and were being processed for service through the appropriate authorised institutions in the United States.
“In view of the outstanding disclosures and the ongoing international processes, the prosecution applied for more time,” the report stated.
The court subsequently extended the deadline for the Republic to file and serve all additional disclosures to February 26, 2026, and adjourned the case to the same date for the continuation of the case management conference.
So far, two witness statements have been filed in the case.
The OSP has filed 78 charges against Ofori-Atta and seven others over alleged corruption and procurement-related offences linked to revenue assurance contracts with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).
The High Court charge sheet, filed on November 18, 2025, accuses the group of conspiring to improperly influence a procurement process to secure an unfair advantage, contrary to Ghana’s Criminal Offences Act and the Public Procurement Act.
Those charged include senior former officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority, as well as executives of SML. The OSP says its months-long investigation uncovered serious financial irregularities involving top officials who played key roles in the awarding and supervision of the controversial contracts.
