The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has expressed his gratitude and appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as the strong performance of the current administration across key sectors of the economy.

Speaking to the media during a one-on-one encounter, Nelson outlined several development initiatives and achievements attributed to President Mahama, with particular focus on their impact on the Western Region.

In the education sector, the Regional Minister said the President has assured the people of the Western Region of the establishment of a teacher training college and a public university, among other educational infrastructure projects aimed at expanding access to tertiary education.

Touching on healthcare, Nelson mentioned the ongoing expansion and upgrading of several health facilities across the region to improve access to quality healthcare services.

He also noted that significant progress is being made in the road sector, adding that the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure agenda is on course and already yielding results in the Western Region.

According to the Minister, President Mahama has further assured the region that several abandoned projects will soon be resumed, as part of efforts to accelerate development and complete stalled infrastructure initiatives.

Nelson also disclosed that the 24-hour economy market project is expected to commence in the Western Region in the near future, a move he said would boost economic activity and create employment opportunities.

“The performance of the current administration is on course, and I am confident that by the end of President Mahama’s tenure, Ghanaians will witness significant infrastructure development across the country,” he stated.

The Regional Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development and said the Western Region remains a key beneficiary of the administration’s national development agenda.
