Justin Kodua Frimpong is General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has cautioned that anyone attempting to disrupt the party’s upcoming presidential primary will face action from security agencies.
Speaking during the signing of a peace pact by the NPP presidential aspirants on Thursday, January 22, 2026, he reiterated the party’s commitment to ensuring that the internal elections, scheduled for January 31, 2026, are free, fair, and credible.

“I want to send a strong caution to anyone, whether inside or outside our party, who intends to discredit or disrupt our democracy on January 31. Be careful, because the IGP and his men will apprehend anybody who tries to cause chaos,” he warned.
He also appealed to all presidential aspirants to conduct themselves with restraint and uphold party unity before, during, and after the contest.

“No single aspirant can secure victory in the 2028 general elections without the collective support of the party. This contest is not a war; it is only to show whether you have the support of the party. When you win, you still need the support of your brothers to carry on and win the 2028 Election,” he remarked.
Justin Kodua further assured aspirants that the party leadership is fully prepared to support all candidates and will lead reconciliation efforts after the primary to unite the party ahead of the 2028 Election.
The signing of the peace pact forms part of the NPP’s efforts to promote peaceful internal elections and strengthen party unity as it gears up for the 2028 general elections.
The NPP presidential primary is scheduled for January 31, 2026.
